I have spent the last 35 years of my professional career in the telecommunications industry, working on leading-edge initiatives with executives from telecommunications companies in Canada, USA and overseas.
Our Main Street corridor currently suffers from poor cell phone reception, making it almost impossible to conduct a business meeting or just simply be connected. Whether it be for professional, personal or social reasons, we require seamless network connectivity everywhere we go. I am committed to leveraging my professional network in the telecommunications industry to bring improved cell phone reception and network connectivity to our Main Street.
Many of us have also enjoyed free Wi-Fi in many Town facilities and at the Riverwalk Commons. I am committed to bringing this forward in Town Council to provide free Wi-Fi access in other parks in Ward 5. Wi-Fi brings families outdoors to our parks for longer periods and allows them to be connected for work, pleasure or even for safety reasons. This basic connectivity is necessary and expected by all generations in 2016!
